Als wir zu dritt (Andreas Fischer, Daniel Holt und ich) im Jahre 2015 (das Planungstreffen fand im September 2014 statt) das „Journal of Dynamic Decision Making“ (JDDM) als elektronische Zeitschrift gegründet haben, war uns nicht klar, welche Überlebenschancen das Journal haben würde. Nun, im Jahre 2025, wird der elfte Jahrgang dieser Zeitschrift erscheinen, also ein 10-Jahres-Jubiläum! Anlass für eine kleine Rückschau, die ich mit einer Titelliste beginne:

Ein ganz beachtliches Oeuvre, wie ich finde! All diese Titel sind natürlich open access, d.h. kostenlos und weltweit zugänglich – die Zugriffszahlen (Downloads) sind beachtlich (die genauen Zahlen finden sich für jeden Beitrag unter dem Stichwort „statistics“)! Es gab starke und schwache Jahrgänge, aber die Hauptsache ist, dass das Journal regelmäßig erschienen ist.
Es war uns von Anfang an klar, dass die Zielgruppe der Forschenden im sehr speziellen Themenfeld „Dynamic Decision Making“ überschaubar ist, wir also ein Nischen-Organ darstellen. Umso schöner, dass wichtige nationale Autorinnen und Autoren aus dieser Szene den Weg in unsere Zeitschrift gefunden haben! Natürlich freuen wir uns auch, das internationale Autorinnen und Autoren bei uns publizieren. Dies haben wir natürlich unter anderem dem international und hochkarätig besetzten Editorial Board zu verdanken. Auch die Interdisziplinarität ist erkennbar, wenngleich die Psychologie dominiert.
Einige Argumente, die für eine Einreichung bei JDDM sprechen:
- Internationalität des Editorial Boards,
- Themenzentriertheit,
- Interdisziplinarität,
- kostenlos für Einreichende und Lesende,
- open access,
- unterstützendes (anstatt vernichtendes) Review-Verfahren,
- UB Heidelberg als nachhaltiger Publisher ohne kommerzielle Interessen.
Den Gutachtenden ist zu danken: Sie sorgen für Einhaltung der Qualitätsstandards, denen wir uns verpflichtet fühlen. Der UB Heidelberg ist zu danken, die uns die Plattform kostenlos zur Verfügung stellt (wir erheben keine APC, article processing charges).
Zwei „Call for Papers“ (1x Basic Research, 1x Political Decision Making) haben Artikel hervorgerufen, die uns interessante Perspektiven (auch aus benachbarten Fachkulturen) vermittelt haben.
Ich bin inzwischen aus dem Editorial Board ausgeschieden und freue mich, dass jüngere Personen wie zum Beispiel Amory Danek (München) oder Wolfgang Schoppek (Bayreuth – Chief Editor) nun eine aktive Rolle spielen.
